A Talk

Ritual for Life's Milestones

Why people need ceremony, and how to mark life's big moments with meaning.

Book This Talk

Big moments deserve to be marked. When church or family tradition is far away, people still long for a way to honor them. This talk gives them one.

What the Room Receives

Ceremony that fits who people are now.

Why Ceremony Matters

Ceremony helps a big moment land: it gathers people, names what is changing, and lets love be said out loud.

Ritual for a New Season

For people far from a church or family tradition, or starting fresh: ways to keep the sacred moments sacred.

Simple Rituals to Use

A candle, a blessing, a few words said out loud: small rituals for a new baby, a new home, a sober year, a fresh start.

Every Tradition Welcome

For all faith traditions and everything in-between, always at each person's lead.

  3. The talk.Stories, simple rituals to try, and a plan for the next big moment.
The Story

A house becomes a home.

A family gathers in a new home. Someone lights a candle, each person names one hope for the house, and the youngest carries the light from room to room. Ten minutes, and a house becomes a home. This talk shows people how to create moments like that for every threshold in a life.

Common questions

Good to know.

Who is this talk for?

Churches, community groups, event and wedding planners, families, and anyone who gathers people for life's big moments.

Which moments does it cover?

Weddings and anniversaries, a new baby, a new home, graduations and retirements, sober anniversaries, a fresh start after a big ending, and honoring a life well lived.

Do you lead ceremonies too?

Yes. Chris and Kayti write and lead weddings, blessings, milestones and new beginnings, and celebrations of life.

Is it faith based?

Each talk welcomes all faith traditions and everything in-between. A church may ask for faith woven in, and a school or workplace may ask for plain words. Both are welcome.
